PART SIX - PUERTO MOGAN & THE YELLOW BOAT TRIP.

Today we'd booked a trip on the yellow boat from Puerto Mogan. It's rated as the top thing to do on trip advisor - we were to find out that it was well deserved!

Puerto Mogan is also known as little Venice, because  of the many little 'canals'. This is one of the many flowery back streets.

This is the harbour/marina.

No cars are allowed on the front - this makes it even more attractive for a relaxing walk and a coffee, cocktail or meal.

We never expected to see a bandstand, but this lovely little centre attraction looks perfect! Unfortunately, we've never seen it used for anything.

Palms and Bougainvillea abound on the streets here.

Looking across the Marina on our way to the yellow boat berth.

The houses and apartments here are MUCH sought after. Many of them, we found out, are air B&B's. Not always good, so you have to be careful which one you choose. We spoke to a couple who said theirs was damp, with mould, and of course, cockroaches, However, they said next door was a good one. The thing is, the ones in the 'Venice' part of town command top dollar, as everyone (including us) wants to stay in Puerto Mogan.

The canals under the houses.

Our yellow boat lies waiting in the harbour.

We boarded the comfortable and clean looking boat. As it was not high season, there were only around a dozen of us. The boat can carry up to 25.

Ready for the off!

Again we were lucky, with a beautiful day, and calm seas.

Ruben explained that on the way out, he would travel away from the coastline, but on the way back, he would hug the coast so we could see both aspects. As with everything else on this trip - well thought out!

Top of the morning to you, Susie!

Marta and their son (who, I must admit, I thought was a little girl).

Lots of room.

Ruben explains what fish are around, and the best places to see them when we snorkel.

As soon as we dropped anchor, we were all in!

A shoal of pipe fish.

Ruben launched his drone and took footage of us all, which he then sent us a link to allow us to download (free).
We didn't spend a euro extra on this trip - everything is included.

Lots of fish gathered under the boat - some quite big ones too! Ruben explained that they seek the shade, or shadow, of the boat.

90 minutes passed SO quickly, and soon it was time to climb out for lunch.

I saw one species I'd never seen before - the cornet fish.

Simple, but very nice, food in the way of Canarian potatoes, bread and Spanish omelette were also included, as was the sangria and other drinks.

Contact details. Check out the fabulous reviews they get on trip advisor.

On the way back, one happy chappie.

A great day out for our final day.
We finished the holiday with a meal with two friends, Chris and Joy, who came out at the end of our stay.
